This is the beginnings of a blog where I hope to get in the habit of writing again. I used to do it so much, even though it was random ramblings. But I have so much more to talk about these days, so I figured what the hell?
I'm almost 30 years old, ALMOST. I live in a cute little house with my soul mate, and we have two adorable crazy dogs. Once upon a time, my life consisted of going out to bars and meeting new people, going to parties, and having a serious social life. Now I try to absorb as much downtime as I possibly can. I almost groan when I have more than one social obligation per week. What would I rather be doing? Probably catching up on my DVR, baking awesome things, playing xbox, and mostly just fixing up the house. I'm so grateful that we have a house that needs some work, instead of some brand new cookie cutter house. I mean, that's great for most people, and it is waaay less stress I'd imagine. But I love the idea of the house evolving along with us, and how we are the ones to make the decisions on things.
So far, we finished the upstairs room, re-tiled the kitchen floor (god, it was awful) and now we are in the process of doing some serious landscaping and building a driveway. Matt's doing an awesome job digging it all up, and all I can do is cheer him on and have drinks and food ready when he's finished. But that's super important!!!
I made these cupcakes last night for our dinner in memory of Gary Jacobs, which I'm pretty excited about. They're healthy and delicioussssss!
